STOURBRIDGE MP Lynda Waltho has been helping former railway workers celebrate a landmark anniversary with an eye on the future.
Mrs Waltho was guest speaker at the 60th annual Retired Railwaymen's Dinner, held at the Beech Tree Miners Club in Wassel Grove.
The event is regarded as a highpoint in the railway year with a guest list made up of ex-train drivers or locomotive engineers from the region.
The Labour MP took the opportunity to restate her support for regional transport projects like the Parry People Mover and called for its reinstatement on the Stourbridge Branch Line.
Lynda said: "Stourbridge has a fantastic history as a rail town and it is possible in the future to recapture some of that history with development in light rail to make Stourbridge once again the centre of major leap forward in transport innovation."
