STOURBRIDGE MP Lynda Waltho has called on the Government to renew its commitment to tackling domestic violence.
Labour MP Lynda asked The Minister for Women to consider allowing domestic violence experts from the public sector groups such as Refuge and Women's Aid to advise the Government on policies to best tackle the problem.
Lynda said "I think the Government needs to listen to women who work on the frontline with victims if they really want to create policies that will be successful.
"Sandra Horley, Refuge chief executive, is a great example of someone who is dedicated to fighting domestic violence and is an expert in her field.
"She would be a great asset to any Government group on domestic violence."
The Minister - Harriet Harman MP - welcomed the suggestion and agreed experts must be listened to.
Lynda added "I will be lobbying her every step of the way to ensure the change she has promised becomes a reality and that experts are consulted in all the decisions."
