Heathens report bumper season ticket sales
12:00pm Sunday 6th January 2013 in Sport
DUDLEY Heathens have smashed the club record for season ticket sales.
The former Cradley club have already sold more than last year with three months still remaining before the tapes go up on the new season.
Fans have taken advantage of the early bird offer in big numbers – and club chairman Nigel Pearson is amazed by the loyalty of supporters.
“It's truly amazing, the support we are getting,” he said. “Looking at the numbers, we have already sold more than last season and that's a true measure of how excited the fans are about our new-look team.
“Naturally a lot of people were very down a couple of months ago after all the injuries and the fact we lost out on the league title by a point.
“We have had to release some great lads from our plans and those decisions were horrible for us to make. Even Chris Van Straaten and Gary Patchett, with all their Elite League experience, said it was one of the toughest decisions they have known.
“But all our focus is now on 2013 and we want to push forward in a positive manner with some exciting young riders to watch in our team colours.
“We will open our home season on Tuesday, April 9, at Wolverhampton and we are looking forward to some fantastic fixtures against the likes of Mildenhall and Coventry - not to mention Isle of Wight, who have half of our 2012 team on board!”
Heathens have confirmed admission prices for the 2013 season will be £11 adults, £8 concessions and £2 children aged 15 and under. Admission is free for infants aged 5 and under.
Season tickets are still available at £120 adults, £80 concessions and £10 children.
