NORTON Social A missed the chance to close the gap at the top of the Stourbridge Snooker League as they lost 3-2 away to West Midlands Police.
Only Steve Mason and Neil Rollinson could win for Norton, who trail Brierley Hill Sports Bar A by four points, the latter having not played due to a free week.
Kinver Constitutional A are within four points of Norton after a 4-1 home victory over Stourbridge Institute A. Jason Oakes, Darren Oakes, Chris Jones and Chris Southall won for the defending champions.
Wins for Rob Howen, Dave Green and Milan Krstanovic helped Hotshots SC overturn a two frame deficit to a 3-2 success against Amblecote Institute A.
A 52 break for Jack Trueman was the highlight of Brierley Hill B’s 3-2 win over their own C team, while Snooks SCA took maximum points from their clash with Pockets SCB.
First Division leaders Netherton Sports and Social crushed bottom team 5-0 to increase their lead at the top.
Second-placed Kingswinford RBL A also had a good 4-1 win over near neigbours Kingswinford Cons A, thanks to victories for Steve Small, Anthony Davies, Martin Wilson and Andrew Brown.
Mark Smith won the decider to give Brierley Hill Sports Bar D the edge over Kingswinford SC, while Kinver Constitutional B also won 3-2 at Norton Social B.
Amblecote Institute B bounced back to form with a 4-1 win at Wombourne.
Stourbridge Institute B, who had lost their last games, fought back from 2-0 down at Kinver C through Alan Cope, Dan Harbach and Paul Atkinson to claim victory.
Kinver D extended their lead at the top of the Second Division to three points with a hard-fought 3-2 win over challengers Baggeridge Social.
With the scores level at 2-2, Bob Jones clinched the decider against Ryan Allmark.
Stourbridge Institute C prevailed over Amblecote Institute E. Nick Aston, Harry Jones, Trevor Pardoe and Geoff Cunningham won for Stour who now trail Baggeridge by two points.
