Kings hold on to win

TEN man Kingswinford Hockey Club survived a second-half onslaught to beat Droitwich 4-2.

Kings were cruising to victory against the league’s bottom side before Bal Lally red card in the second period.

Earlier, Colin Morris had given them the perfect start with a strike in the opening 30 seconds.

Two goals quickly followed, as Adam Pritchard slammed home after beating two defenders, before Guneet Uppal pounced on a loose ball to score.

When Gary Oates drag flicked a shot into the top corner to make it 4-0 before the break, a convincing win looked certain.

But Lally’s dismissal for dissent changed the game’s dynamic and Droitwich began a fightback.

They found Kings keeper Tim Sanders in superb form and despite pulling two goals back, the hosts were able to hold on.
