Brookes and Slade down the Crown

DOUBLES from Mark Brookes and Mark Slade helped Britannia beat Three Crowns 5-1 in the Joe Stanton Memorial Trophy semi-final.

Premier Division side Crowns had taken the lead through Jake Morgan but their Division One opponents equalised through Matt Morris before taking control in the second-half.

Britannia will face either Pensnett United or Bush Athletic in the final, after the former saw off Wackers 3-2 in their quarter final clash.

Bush warmed up for the game with a 7-0 drubbing of Lloyds in the Premier Division, with Lee Chilton getting a brace.

In Division One, Matt Buxton scored the only goal as Hadcroft Rovers saw off Forest Falcons, while Malt Shovel Athletic hammered Dudley United 8-0 thanks to Rob Smart’s hat-trick and a brace from Adam Kelly.

Ocker Hill Waggon claimed a 2-1 win at Sedgley White Lion thanks to goals from Ashley Harris and Shaun Stevenson.
