BRIERLEY Hill boxer Connor Jones has been packing a punch for Great Britain’s Junior Squad recently.
The 17-year-old is the current England junior lightweight champion and the star turn at Lions Boxing Club, which is based in Brierley Hill.
Jones, pictured right, has already represented Great Britain when recording victories over opponents from Germany and Denmark.
He is shortly set to represent England at the Home Internationals next month.
Jones is studying for a level two qualification in sport at Birmingham Metropolitan College through their own Boxing Academy but still trains with the Lions under the watchful eye of Kevin and Bob Dillon, who also coaches the Great Britain Squad.
Jones said: “I’ve been boxing since I was six when I used to visit the Lions Boxing club with my dad. “Joining the Boxing Academy enables me to box while continuing with my studies at the same time.”
The youngster is hoping to increase his string of accolades which has seen him crowned West Midlands Young Boxer of the Year in addition to being West Midlands Junior champion as well.
