POPULAR Priory Park Boxing Club will be hosting a show at the Copthorne Hotel later this month.

Situated next to Priory Park in Dudley, the club is currently being extended and money raised from the show on February 22 will help purchase new kit and equipment.

Long serving chairman Paul Gough, who is also promoting the show, has organised 15 contests for the extravaganza, which will include two Central Area title fights.

Priory Park’s Ryan Partridge takes on defending champion Joe Stevenson, of Walsall Wood, for the light middleweight crown.

Fellow Priory Park boxer Natt Howell will also attempt to prise the Novice Class middleweight title from title holder Benjamin Douglas, who represents the Scots Grey club in Nottingham.

All the contests will include Priory Park boxers, which feature bouts from the youngsters plus junior and senior events.

Money for the extension has been provided by a Sport England grant and supporter James Dickens, but Paul Gough explained: “It still wasn’t enough. Then Roy and Lee Richardson stepped in and made up the shortfall, which was wonderful of them.”
