Poles in ‘call up’ to join Cradley

POLISH league pairing Jaroslaw Cyran and Patryk Sikora have been drafted in to the Cradley Town squad for what promises to be a hectic end to the West Midland Regional League season.
Last night’s trip to Bustleholme was yet another game to fall foul of the incessant rain which has seen Cradley play just once this year.
Cyran is a tough-tackling defender who is expected to feature in his favoured position of centre half as Town look ahead to a trip to Malvern Town on Saturday, although boss Nigel Birch says the likelihood of that game beating the weather is remote.
“We going to have a lot of games to play in April and the two lads were at Alvechurch and were recommended to me by Ross Thorpe who was coach when I was at Hednesford.
“They weren’t getting games there so we’ve taken them on loan but it’s been frustrating for them, with Patryk gettying just one start so far because of the postponements.”
Dominic Oliver, a central midfielder who recently featured for Redditch United and Boldmere, has also joined the fold.
“I remember Dom from being at Aston Villa when he was released as a 16-year-old and he too has been struggling to get games under his belt.
“The issue now for us is to look at next season – we won’t go up and we won’t be relegated – and we will have a lot of games to fit in between now and when the season finishes.
“It’s been a difficult time for us financially.”
