HALESOWEN swimmers made the long trip to Glasgow and enjoyed a successful British Gas Championships from April 10 -15.
Richard Spoor, competing for Loughborough University, was aiming for a spot on the England team even though the qualifying criteria was incredibly tough. In the 100m breaststroke Richard made it through to the semi-final but just missed out on a place in the final. In the 50m breaststroke he made the semi-final again but fell agonising short of a place in the final.
Chloe Finch, competing for City of Birmingham, had a gruelling five days of competition in the 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle events and made it through to all of the junior finals.
In the 200m, Chloe made it to the final and finished fourth. In the 800m freestyle she bagged a bronze medal and on the final day made it though to the junior final of the 400m and grabbing another third place on the podium.
