DUDLEY Kingswinford athlete Helen Tromans was amongst the prizes again this week.

She travelled towards Hay on Wye for the Magic Roundabout 10k race. Organised by the Hay Hotfooters Club, the race had an elevation of 415m over an undulating grass course and tracks with some challenging uphills. Runners were rewarded with some stunning views over the surrounding countryside.

Tromans was the fifth woman home and the first in her age group by finishing in 50.04 to claim 63rd overall.

She was joined by Debbie Richards who finished in 66.22 for 173rd place.

Elsewhere, Jacqui Elson-Whittaker finished in 48.51 in seventh and Rachel Tomkins was 114th in 52.20 in the Worcester 10k, a fast, flat and scenic course along the River Severn.

Roger Beddard competed in the Great Midlands Fun Run, although he did everything he could to take the fun out of it by finishing the 8.5 mile course around Sutton Park in 1.03.48 for a new course personal best.
