STOURBRIDGE Running Club had 19 members taking part in last weekend's Blakedown Bolt race.

The popular event is a 10k race in Blakedown, Worcestershire, and saw 275 runners taking part.

First to cross the line for the club was Christopher Blake in sixth place with a time of 40.49. Hot on his heels was Pete Walters in seventh with a time of 41.49, and Timothy Bailey (18th) in 44.15.

Duncan Cornish took part in the Man V Horse race which was held in Llanwrytd Wells, Wales, last week. The race is in it's 35th year and involves racing against horses over 24 miles of country lanes, forest track, open moorland and bogs.

He competed against over 600 runners and horses and finished in 90th place with a time of 3.50. Despite the 4,000 foot ascent and descent and two water crossings, Cornish managed to finish ahead of 26 horses.

He used this race as part of his training as he is going to be running 130 miles on August 23 in the Liverpool to Leeds canal race. He's running it in memory of his late Father David Cornish who sadly passed away recently. He is raising money for FORCE - a cancer charity.

Stourbridge Running Club's annual 10k Stourbridge Stumble takes place on Saturday, August 9.

The popular multi-terrain race will start at 6pm from Mary Stevens Park, Stourbridge. A 3.5k fun run around the park will also take place at 5pm.

All runners completing the 10k will receive a race memento and there will be medals for all fun run finishers.
