Tividale 1, Halesowen 1

A LATE header from Matt Jukes earned Tividale a draw against Halesowen Town.

After a scrappy start, the game finally came to life when Yeltz forward Iyseden Christie netted on the 20th minute mark.

A straight ball into the box was missed by Tividale keeper Price and Christie had the easiest of opportunities to open the scoring from close range.

The Yeltz should have doubled their lead just two minutes later when Till fed Thompson-Brown in the area, but his low drive was well saved by the out-rushing Price.

They were the only real chances in a first half that failed to really get going.

In the second half, Tividale did a good job of matching their visitors for long spells.

They could have had an equaliser when Bottley weaved his way into the area from the left flank only to see his low effort saved by Sargeant at his near post.

A host of substitutions didn't help the flow of the game but the Yeltz could have added to their total with a good chance falling to Haseley and substitute keeper Turner having to make a good double save in the Tivi goal.

However, it was Tivi who were to have the final say in the contest.

When Tilt rashly dived in on Ashton in the corner it gave the hosts a chance to put a ball in the box. The initial effort was cleared but Jukes headed in from the resulting corner to make it 1-1.

The late drama was maybe fair on Tivi after their improved second half showing and it proved a good workout for bth sides as their seasons draw ever closer.
