LYE Town enjoyed back to back wins over the past week as their Midland Alliance season continued to gather pace.
On Saturday they enjoyed a 3-2 win at home to Coventry Sphinx. Ricky Anslow gave them the lead from the penalty spot but Ashley Jackson headed the visitors level then in the 62nd minute Chris Gummery put Sphinx ahead. But Anslow grabbed his second before Chris Russell hit the winner 11 minutes from time.
On Tuesday, Town produced an equally impressive performance as they won 2-1 at Walsall Wood.
An own goal from Anthony Juxon put Lye in the box seat midway through the first half and they improved on that with a strike from Anslow which capped a fine move down the right, and though Juxon scored at the correct end three minutes later they held on.
On Saturday, Lye are on their travels again when they look for a third straight win at Rocester.
Chairman Brian Blakemore said: “We had an inconsistent start but we seem to be finding our feet with just one defeat in the last five games.”
