SEDGLEY Phoenix's unbeaten start to the season continued as they claimed a 2-1 win over Randall Rangers in division one of the Beacon Football League.

Nathaniel James scored what proved to be a consolation goal for Randall Rangers as they played hosts to Phoenix.

Phoenix had taken an early lead but this was cancelled out by James’ equaliser.

Just before the break, Phoenix broke and scored again to go in 2-1 at the half time whistle.

The second half saw no further goals for either team as the match developed into a midfield battle, and Sedgley Phoenix eventually ran out 2-1 winners to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

On target for Phoenix were Mark Morgan and Joseph Johns.

A Steve Jeavons goal was all that separated Pensnett Panthers and Springvale Steelers Academy in a closely contested match.

James lobbed the Academy keeper form 25 yards out as he came off his line.

The second half saw both teams come close but Panthers managed to hold on to their 1-0 lead for all 3 points.

Three second half goals gave Eastfield their first league win of the season as they played away to Island Inn.

Matthew Smith had given Island Inn the lead on the stroke of half time with a low shot past the Eastfield keeper after beating two of the Eastfield defenders.

The second half saw Eastfield awarded a penalty after the ball was handled in the box. The spot kick was converted to put the teams’ level at 1-1.

A goalkeeping/defender error allowed Eastfield through to take the lead and a third goal beat the Island Inn defender for pace for a 3-1 victory.

On target for Eastfield were Duane Briset, Timol McKellop and Shamaine Graham.

Springvale Steelers Cougars twice had to come from behind before eventually running out 3-2 winners at home to Sandwell Action.

Joseph Noel gave Sandwell Action the lead to see the visitors go in 1-0 up at the break.

The second half saw Cougars awarded a penalty for a foul on Thomas Rutherford in the box. Aiden Hughes stepped up and slotted the ball home to level the score.

Sinesh Patel scored for Sandwell Action to restore their lead before Hughes netted again to cancel Sandwell’s lead.

Three minutes from the final whistle saw Corey Ensor score a great goal to put Cougars ahead for the first time as they went on to secure their second victory of the campaign.

A clean sheet helps keep Ellowes Hall on top spot as they maintain their unbeaten run with a 2-0 home win over FC Banterlona.

The first half saw the Ellowes Hall keeper Ryan Brown make numerous saves to keep the score line 0-0 at the half time break. Nathan Phillips broke the deadlock with a simple goal for the home team. Tom Stanaway created a scored Ellowes Hall’s second goal for a 2-0 victory.

Moubarak Moumouni netted for BNG FC Handsworth, but it proved to be a consolation goal as BNG struggle to find any way back against Hilton FC. Leading 4-0 at half time, Hilton dominated the first half before BNG settled and managed to hold Hilton for the first 25 minutes after the break. Hilton then managed to score again before Moumouni managed to claw a goal back for BNG. But it was too little too late as Hilton again took control and eventually ran out 8-1 winners. Jamie Green and Grant Timmins each bagged a brace with Carl Griffin, Liam Newton, Chris Price and Daniel Carr all getting their names on the score sheet.

Meanwhile, in the Premiership, an impressive display from new outfit West Park Rangers saw Dynamo Dudley falter yet again as they struggle to find any form this season.

Trailing 4-1 at half time, Dynamo were left reeling by the fast pace of the newcomers.

Although Nick Fellows had pulled a goal back before half time for Dynamo and Aaron Lloyd netted after the break it was not enough as West Park move up to second place with a 6-2 victory.

Bright Okyede hit a hat trick; Obassi Chukwudi bagged a brace and Emanuel Messi also scored for West Park Rangers.

It was a game of two halves as AFC Tipton took on Bushbury EMB Rovers.

AFC took control of the first half with Luke McGee scoring from a corner to give AFC the lead.

Bushbury managed to equalise before Sanchez Mulley and Matthew Dudley put AFC 3-1 up at half time. The second half saw AFC tire as Bushbury’s substitutes gave their side the edge as they dominated the second half with 3 goals to run out 4-3 winners.
