GORNAL Athletic have been boosted by the return from injury of Dreniz Bala.

The forward is now ready to return to action after being sidelined for six weeks with an ankle injury.

The Peacocks are currently flying high on a 14 game unbeaten run that has lifted them into third place in the West Midlands Premier and seen them progress in the FA Vase.

Boss Andy Wyton said: "Dreniz is a key player for us and it will be great to have him involved again.

"We will be bringing him into the mix slowly because we don't want to rush him back too soon. He would probably have to wait for his chance in the side anyway due to how well the lads have been doing in his absence.

"Scoring goals has not been an issue for us."

Gornal were left frustrated by the weather as they looked to extend their run of form. Last Saturday's fixture away at Cradley Town was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

"When you are playing well and confidence is high then the games can't come soon enough," added Wyton. "It was frustrating not to be able to play on Saturday but we now need to make sure we keep it going.

"We are playing well but nothing has been won yet."

Gornal were set to take on Bewdley at Garden Walk last night before travelling to face Wellington this Saturday.
