MANAGER Andy Mole says his Causeway United side need to be more ruthless in front of goal to realise their potential.

They claimed a good 1-0 win over Coventry Sphinx at The Grove on Tuesday night but Mole feels they again risked the points by failing to take their chances.

It took a late strike from Alex Cowley to hand United all three points to keep them in their mid-table position.

"Once again we missed a lot of chances but thankfully got what we deserved in the end," said Mole.

"I was waiting for them to take a rare chance that would cost us. It has cost us in other games and we need to be more ruthless and put games away."

Mole was confident that his youthful side can continue to progress as the season goes on.

"We have a young side that is learning with every game," he added. "I think we are in a slightly false position and could be a little higher in the league with the performances we have put in."

Mole also confirmed he has a number of irons in the fire as he looks to bolster his squad for the coming fixtures, which include their FA Vase tie with Walsall Wood on November 22.
