HAVING a settled side is helping Dudley Town play their best football of the season, says chairman Steve Austin.
The Robins beat Wellington Amateurs 5-0 last Saturday to finally get the rewards their performance deserves.
They drew 4-4 with Haughmond the previous weekend despite a sparkling performance.
However, a brace from Joel Ambalu and strikes from Lee Smith, Rhys Morgan and Daryl Hand handed them all three points away at Wellington.
Austin said: "We have now had a settled side for a while and will hopefully continue to do so. It makes a big difference and has really helped us improve.
"It was a fantastic team performance. We have no star players and stand out individuals but play as a team and work for each other."
Dudley were set to play Wolverhampton Casuals last night before taking on high flyers Sporting Khalsa this Saturday.
Austin added: "Sporting Khalsa will be a great test for us. We go into the game high on confidence and it is a good opportunity to find out exactly how far we have come as a team in recent weeks."
