LYE Town bounced back to winning ways with a 6-2 victory over Dunkirk on Tuesday night.

Damian Whitcombe, Ricky Anslow and substitute James Spray all hit doubles as Lye came back from being 2-0 down at Stourbridge Road.

The victory follows back-to-back defeats against Long Eaton and Stourport Swifts.

Town had to wait even longer for the chance to hit back after Saturday's game against Tipton Town was postponed.

Manager Martin Thomas said: "We started badly and conceded two goals because we didn't play the conditions as well as Dunkirk. However, we showed good character to come back and fully deserved the win in the end.

"A few refereeing decisions have gone against us in recent weeks but the players put that behind them.

Lye will face AFC Wulfrunians away this Saturday as they look to back up the win.

Ben Wilkins is still absent with a knee injury and Mark Danks has returned to Hednesford.
