TONY Gore says confidence is soaring in his Dudley Sports squad after much-needed back-to-back league wins.

After failing to win in five consecutive matches, Sports bounced back in fine fashion.

They followed up last Tuesday's 3-1 away success over Wellington Amateurs by beating Cradley Town 4-1 away last Saturday.

Gore said: "We were very good and could have scored even more. It just goes to show that a week really is a long time in football.

"Confidence is now high and the pressure is off us a little going into a difficult run of games. Anything we get from them will be a bonus."

Sports were due to take on Sporting Khalsa in the league cup quarter-final last night before facing the league's third placed side AFC Bridgnorth this Saturday.

They will then come face-to-face with leaders Khalsa three days later when the sides take each other on in the league.

A big part of Dudley's recent wins has been down to new signing Dan Douse. The forward has bagged himself four goals in four games since his arrival.

Gore has also bought in midfielders Craig Stevens, who joined from Gornal Athletic, and Jamie Fisher.

"It has been good to freshen up the squad after lost a lot of players. We are starting games well and everyone is playing for each other," added the boss.
