GOALKEEPER Matthew Jones produced penalty heroics as Cradley Town clinched the West Midlands Premier Cup by seeing off Wellington.
Jones produced a string of saves in the first half and after the two sides could not be separated at 0-0 at full and extra-time, the game was decided by a shootout.
The match, which was watched by a 700 strong crowd at Wolverhampton Casuals, went to penalties and Jones made the decisive save after Adam Meacham had put away Town’s final spot-kick.
Chairman Trevor Thomas said: “This is a huge competition and we’re over the moon to win it.
“We last reached the final in 1999 but we lost when he had to play a game two days before.
“Over the last 41 years, the club has won promotion and leagues but it’s never won a competition like this, so it’s a special moment.”
