STOURBRIDGE Football Club will be in the spotlight next Saturday when their Amblecote ground plays host to BBC's popular Football Focus programme.

The programme will be broadcast live from the ground ahead of Stourbridge's epic FA Cup tie with Eastleigh, which takes place later in the afternoon at 3pm; when the Glassboys will be bidding to reach the Third Round for the first time in their history.

Glassboys secretary Clive Eades said: “The Football Focus programme goes on air from 12.10pm to 1pm and the presenter Dan Walker, will be talking to various people involved with the club and there will be a couple of football celebrities in attendance, although we don't yet know who it will be.

“The programme will take place in front of an invited audience and unfortunately, is not open to the general public, although we do hope as many people as possible will tune in.

“After the programme, the television cameras will remain in place, but the game with Eastleigh is not being featured live and instead there will be extended highlights shown later.

“We had hoped the game would be shown live, but the BBC told us we needed to be drawn against a Football League side.”
