STOURBRIDGE'S play-off hopes have been thrown into the balance after defeat at Frickley Athletic last night.

The Glassboys conceded two late penalties as they lost 2-1 on the night to leave them with it all to do to secure a top-five finish this season.

Stour will now welcome third-placed Salford City to Amblecote this Saturday (3pm) needing a win to guarantee a play-off place. They could still find themselves in the end-of-season shake-up, however, as long as they match six-placed Workington's result at home to Buxton.

It had looked as though Gary Hackett's men were on-course for a play-off spot after Karl Hawley netted in the second half to break the deadlock in Yorkshire last night.

But the host equalised from the penalty spot with five minutes left on the clock through Jacob Hazel.

Tom Davie then beat Matt Gould from the spot in stoppage time after the home side were awarded another penalty as time ran out.
