FOUR teams of Old Halesonians youngsters have enjoyed another summer tour to Wales.
Under-8s to under-12 went to Prestatyn over the weekend of April 22.
Young players, family and friends enjoyed a weekend of rugby, fun games and a chance to forge friendship’s with new clubs.
The under-8s, better known as the Gladiators, took on two very strong Mould teams and came out on top on both occasions.
A last minute glitch meant the under-10s had to quickly get used to Welsh rugby rules.
So the first game was a heavy defeat for Old Hales but to give credit to the young players they were soon on top of things and held them to a draw in the second game.
Meanwhile, the Saxons played two games. The first game against Mould was a closely fought encounter with the home side winning 17-14.
The second game was won 31-17 by another visiting team, Knotsford, who scored a number of great breakaway tries.
