COOMBS Wood remain just outside of the promotion places after routing Bredon by 119 runs last Saturday.
Half-centuries from Abu Saeed, Jared Daniels (both 56) and Zahid Kafiat (76 not out) helped the Wood to a useful 294-7, and then the bowlers set to work and bowled their visitors out for 175.
The Wood travel to league leaders Redditch on Saturday (1pm), and will hope to capitalise on their faltering run of recent form.
Meanwhile, the seconds lost at Netherton and slipped back down to eighth in the table.
The home side posted 275-4 after another lacklustre bowling and fielding performance, with the Wood coming up 45 runs short in reply.
They next face Redditch looking to ease any fears of a late relegation battle.
The thirds earned a winning draw at Five Ways OEs and face Pedmore next week.
