STOURBRIDGE suffered a disappointing defeat against Warrington Town when they kicked off their Northern Premier League season.
Danny Ventre opened the scoring for the hosts on 18 minutes direct from a corner.
The Glassboys then went two goals behind in the 36th minute when Ventre struck again.
This time a direct free kick from out on the left flank found it's way through a crowded penalty area to leave Gary Hackett's men with a mountain the climb.
They were handed a lifeline early in the second half but forward Justin Richards blazed over from the spot on 56 minutes.
Stour couldn't find a way back as they game drew to a close.
They will now look to hit back when Hednesford Town visit Amblecote on Monday night.
