ALREADY relegated Stourbridge suffered their 13th defeat of a wretched Birmingham League Division Two campaign when they crashed to an eight wicket reverse against promotion chasing Tamworth.

Put into bat first, Stourbridge could only manage a modest 103 for six from 25 overs, a total Tamworth knocked off with ease in the 14th over when racing to 104 for two.

Dismayed Stourbridge skipper Matt Bradley insisted the conditions at Amblecote were not fit for play and said: "The outfield was soaking wet and the ball was like a bar of soap to hold. I was really unhappy that the umpires sent us out to play.

"It wasn't so much a case of Stourbridge batting badly but the fact Tamworth bowled really well.

"Their batting was also too strong for us which made the reply little more than a formality."

Stourbridge round off the season with a trip to Harborne on Saturday.

He revealed: "We will have a meeting soon after the Harborne game to regroup and to see where we go from here.

"Although we've been relegated to Division Three, I don't expect things to become any easier next season."
