DEVASTATED Dudley Sports have suffered a third serious injury after full back Ryan Craig dislocated his shoulder during Saturday's game against Stone Old Alleynians.

The match was held up for 45 minutes before paramedics arrived as Craig was unable to be moved.

Craig's injury follows hard on the heels of Matt Hanson's double fracture of the leg while playing Sunday football the previous week.

Fellow Sports player Matt Holland had already been ruled out this season after damaging his ankle ligaments.

Beleaguered Sports boss Tony Gore revealed: "It's was only Ryan's second game for us. It happened on the half hour mark when we were leading 1-0. Ryan couldn't be moved and we waited until the ambulance arrived and then started warming up again.

"Ryan has got to wait until all the swelling goes down before the full extent of the damage can be assessed, but he was in a great deal of pain. My physio Peter Miller and one of the players, Jamie Parker, sat with Ryan until the paramedics arrived.

"In all my years in football, I've never known anything as bad as this injury wise."

Sports finished up drawing 2-2 with Dom Strevens and Chris Rabone on target.

Life doesn't get any easier for Sports as they visit runaway Midland League Premier leaders Westfields this Saturday in the FA Vase.

Hereford-based Westfields have won all eight of their league games to date and are still involved in the FA Cup.

Gore admitted: "We couldn't have been given a harder game."

To make matters worse, Luke Williams and Curtis Cocking are unavailable through work commitments.
