MATT Fisher is promising a revamp of his Gornal Athletic squad following his winless start at the helm.

The Peacocks lost 3-0 against Willenhall Town last Saturday for Fisher's first game at Garden Walk.

That clash followed the previous week's disappointing 8-1 thrashing against Wolverhampton Casuals.

Fisher has now promised big changes as he prepares for this Saturday's clash at Bewdley Town.

He said: "We looked stronger this week, our shape was much better and the players I brought in did make a difference, but it also highlighted that we still need more new additions."

The new players to make their debuts in the Willenhall loss were Josh Darlington, Martin Beard, Myles Newman, Matt Bird and Kieran Price.

"I now have much more understanding of what players I need to bring in," added Fisher.

"I have been busy talking to clubs and players from a higher level to try and increase our quality.

"We need to start winning games sooner rather than later and I need to act quickly. There will hopefully be new players coming in very soon and some players will be allowed to leave to find new clubs as well.

"My first priorities are a centre back and a centre forward."

The boss at Garden Walk has also taken the step to up training to twice a week to improve the squad's fitness levels.

"Fitness is another area I need to look at," added Fisher.

"We aren't fit enough and we are starting to struggle after the hour mark."

Central midfielder Thomas Beech, who joined the club when Fisher arrived, is finally in line to make his debut for the Peacocks against Bewdley this weekend.
