TIVIDALE lifted themselves off the bottom of the Midland Football League Premier Division with victory at Quorn last Saturday.

Goals from Nathan Jones and Stourbridge loanee Joe Hull handed them a 2-1 away win.

Their second success of the season lifted them above Brocton and finally bagged them a rare win on the road. It also saw them quickly recover from a 4-2 defeat at Loughborough University last Tuesday.

Manager Dave King said: "We played well against Loughborough but a referee decision has let us down.

"We should have had a penalty and gone in 2-0 at the break but instead the ref hasn't given it and they have gone up the pitch and got an equaliser that was offside.

"It was disappointing but we used that as motivation ahead of the Quorn game. I told the players to turn their frustration into a positive.

"We did well first, took the lead and could have had even more. In the second half our keeper, Luke Kriskinans, played really well after they threw everything at us."

King says he will now be talking with Stourbridge about the possibility of keeping defender Hull even longer.

"He has done well, enjoyed it here and his partnership with Matt Hunt has been a real positive for us," added the boss. "We need to talk to Joe and Stourbridge and see if it would be possible for him to stay with us.

"Everything is heading in the right direction at the moment. That extra bit of experience has helped the younger lads excel."

Tivi don't have a game this Saturday but will return to action in the Birmingham Senior Cup away at Rugby Town next Tuesday.
