CRADLEY Town continued their winning streak under manager Andy Wyton when they made progress in the Birmingham Floodlit Midland Cup this week with an excellent 2-0 win over Chelsmley Town on Monday night.
The match took place on Coleshill Town's 4G pitch and Wyton revealed: "Because the game took place on a Monday night, I could only raise the bare minimum of 11 players as some of the squad already have prior commitments.
"We tried to change the date, but Monday is the only night Chelmsley can hire Coleshill's pitch!
"In the circumstances, it was a great result as Chelmsley have been going quite well in Midland League Division One."
Croatian striker Dreniz Bala and Scott Stevenson proved the players on target for Cradley.
Wyton confirmed he was still looking to increase his squad.
He had to rule out key players Will Tibbetts and Geoff Hill against Chelmsley as both are suffering with tight hamstrings which wouldn't have been conducive to a 4G pitch while Charlie Gregg was absent with flu but Wyton is optimistic they will all return for Saturday's West Midlands League contest at Bewdley Town.
Wyton added: "We've stepped up our work-rate and it's beginning to pay off as we've now won our last four games."
