HALESOWEN boss John Hill says he is looking forward to getting back to league action this weekend.

The Yeltz travel to second-from-bottom side Skelmersdale United on Saturday after back-to-back cup games.

They suffered a narrow 4-3 defeat at Blyth Spartans in the FA Trophy last Saturday before Tuesday night's exit from the league cup when losing to Rushall Olympic. The Pics progressed on penalties after the clash had ended 1-1.

Hill was proud of how his side handled the cup encounters despite the defeats but now wants his side to pick up where they left off in the Northern Premier League.

The Yeltz have suffered just two losses in the last ten games.

The manager at the Grove said: "The game against Blyth was unbelievable. We looked dead and buried at 2-0 down but came back really well. We looked the only winner at one point but then let in two goals.

"It felt like one that got away but the players can all be very proud of how they performed against one of the form sides of our division.

"Hopefully we can take a lot of positives from the game. We showed a lot of character.

"Against Rushall we took the chance to use some of our squad players and we did quite well but couldn't hold onto our lead again. Once it went to penalties it was always a lottery.

"It will be really good to get back to league action now and focus on that again.

"It won't be an easy game at Skelmersdale and we'll have make sure we're focused again but hopefully we can get another positive result."

Forward Ethan Delaney netted a brace against Blyth but will have a groin injury assessed ahead of the weekend.

Hales will be without full back Kyle Haynes due to a hamstring problem.
