TIVIDALE boss Dave King admits he had mixed emotions after his side's 2-2 draw with Rocester.

Nathan Jones netted his second of the game in stoppage time to salvage a point for Tivi last Saturday but King thinks his side could have taken all three.

Dale started brightly and opened the scoring thanks to Jones' first after 20 minutes.

However, the visitors to the Beeches hit back before the break with goals from Oliver Roome and Ashleigh Lynch. The second on the stroke of half time should have been flagged offside according to King.

Undeterred, Tivi hit back in the 91st minute when Jones rounded the keeper and slotted home.

King said: "I really do think we deserved a point in the end and maybe even all three. It was mixed emotions at full time because it was great to score late on and get a point but it was still a missed chance to get the win.

"We lost 4-1 in the reverse fixture, so we have shown some improvement and the draw gives us something to build on.

"There second came at a crucial time and should have been offside. The linesman flagged for the first ball through but the referee overruled him, which was the right decision. Instead of following the play he stayed where he was and then missed the second offside when the ball was crossed for their player to tap in.

"It was disappointing but we'll just have to forget it and move on."

King was full of praise for Jones after his double at the weekend.

He said: "He has looked really sharp in training and took his goals with precision after rounding the keeper on both occasions."

Tivi will now host Boldmere St Michaels this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

They will welcome back Dan Smith, Liam Smith, Charlie Wilson and Freddy Watts. Lewis Probert will have a shoulder injury assessed ahead of the game.
