CRADLEY launch their home National League campaign with one of their Perry Barr meetings next Wednesday.

The Heathens face King’s Lynn in the first of what is expected to be three outings at Birmingham – with the rest at Monmore Green.

It’s a throwback to the launch of the new era in 2010 when they shared venues – and this season they have a combination of new and familiar faces.

Tom Perry, Dan Greenwood and Luke Harris all return to the club – but for Connor Dwyer it means a home debut in Heathens colours.

“It’s a really good opportunity for me to be at Cradley,” Dwyer said. “I’m really looking forward to it and I just want to make the most out of the chance.

“It’s a good club, and I’m just going into this season with the same sort of mindset I’ve had every year.

“I’ll always try to improve my average and just keep progressing and moving in the right direction.

“I’m not sure where I’ll be riding yet, but if I’m at No.2 again then I’ll just look to win heat eight and pick up points in the rest of my heats.

“I’ve done a lot of laps at Wolverhampton, probably more than I did at Coventry last year, so I’m really excited to have that as my home track.

“Hopefully I can keep improving there and have a good home track advantage, because that’s always a nice thing to have.”

Dwyer linked up with his new team-mates for the first time at their Season Launch Night earlier this month.

And he says they are already developing a strong team spirit that can help them throughout the campaign.

He added: “Everyone gets on really well already. I’ve known Tom (Perry) and Dan (Greenwood) for a long time and they are two great lads who I’m pleased to be riding with.

“Everyone else seems nice as well and we’ve already started having a good laugh together. There is already a good team spirit developing which is great and will hopefully help us during the season.”
