MANAGER John Hill has underlined his frustration at yet another Yeltz player making the move to local rivals Stourbridge.

The Glassboys turned their transfer attentions to the Grove once more this week to take central defender Liam Slade.

Slade played a vital role in helping Halesowen to a clean sheet and three points at relegation rivals Frickley Athletic last Saturday. The 1-0 success thanks to Danny Bragoli's winner keeps the Yeltz above the Northern Premier League dropzone heading into the final weeks of the campaign.

However, just days later Slade became the latest player to make the short trip to Amblecote, featuring in Stour's 3-1 victory against Ilkeston on Monday night.

He follows the likes of Kristian Green, Tom Tonks and Joe Hull to recently make the move.

Hill said: "It is just very frustrating from my point of view that we seem to be working with these players, preparing them for the league and then just showcasing them for Stourbridge to pick up.

"We spread our net far and wide to get players in and have players travelling to play for us, but it feels like we're just a breeding ground for Stourbridge sometimes.

"It's important to point out that Stourbridge are doing nothing wrong whatsoever, but it's just very, very annoying.

"Tonks, Green, Hull, Slade, Curtis Tilt if Hednesford hadn't intervened, and we've also had Richard Sho-Silva and Kennedy Digie here on loan this season as well.

"Liam Slade going makes me disappointed and angry because of the timing more than anything.

"We are in a relegation battle with only a few games left of the season. We thought we were all in it together. Only on Saturday was he in the heart of defence and helping us pick up a big win. Now we have to make changes again."

Hill has already boosted his side with the arrival of young defender Jon Moran on-loan from Forest Green Rovers and former Rushall Olympic midfielder Mo Diop.

The manager says he is also working hard to add a couple more signings before this weekend's trip to play-off chasing Spennymoor Town.

Halesowen's game at Hednesford on Monday night was postponed but Hill hopes his side can now build on the big win at Frickley.

He said: "It was a massive six-pointer. It was a game we couldn't afford to lose so to come away with the win was very pleasing.

"Frickley has always been a place where you have to roll your sleeves up and we have do that and battled hard to match them and get the win.

"There is still a long way to go so we have to keep picking up points wherever we can. Spennymoor are one of the best sides we have faced this season so we know it will be a tough ask on Saturday, especially with the long journey as well.

"But I relish these games when we have our backs to the wall and are having to dig out a result."
