BLACK Country Triathletes took on the Sandwell Hill Horror Sprint aquathlon held at Haden Hill Leisure Centre and park last weekend.

The youth and adult age groups raced against each other on the killer hill course which consisted of a 400m pool swim followed by a four-lap course of the park.

Ollie Mason was first home for the club finishing in 28.34, finishing sixth overall and fourth youth male, Ollie Evans was close behind in 28.52, eighth overall and fifth in age group.

Zoe Brickley was the first female home in a time of 31.22, 12th overall and second in age group, with Lydia Silk following in 32.19 finishing fourth in age group and finally Sarah Kennard in 42.30, who came second in the 40-49 age group.

There were several junior athletes who also raced taking on the hilly course. In the TS3 age group, Zach Taylor finished in 13.55 10th in age group, Noah Sandland in 14.19 11th, Tom Hipwood 15.05 12th and Cian Gopal in 15.44 in 13th; for the girls Sydney Williams finished in 15.51 and fifth in age group and Jenny Price crossed the line in 22.02 and 12th.

For the TS2 category, Alex Westbury was fourth in age group in a time of 10.05, Abbie Kennard was seventh in 10.13, Isabell Mason was ninth in 10.32, Rosie Briscoe was 11th in 10.51 and Leah Gopal 19th in 11.42.

In the TS1 age group, Scarlett Williams finished first in age group in a time of 7.20.

New BCT member John Tibbetts decided to celebrate his 50th birthday with his first open water triathlon in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.
