NETHERTON won their fifth game of the season by overcoming Alvechurch and Hopwood last Saturday.

Captain Danny Lowe's men bowled out their hosts for 138 despite losing the toss and being put in the field.

Lowe set the town early as he removed opening skipper Adam Markham-Jones for a duck. He then accounted for fellow opener Liam Hall for 15.

Curtis Beach top scored with 43 and looked to put a partnership together with number four Edd Rodgers (39). However, Conor Warby sent both packing to begin the Alvechurch collapse.

Simon Oseland and Matt Lowe got in on the act to dismiss the home side in by the 41st over.

Netherton openers Russell Oseland (43) and Matt Lowe (72) made short work of the chase to bag a 10-wicket win. The victory sees Netherton remain in fourth place but does keep the heat on the top two in Division Three of the Worcestershire County League.

This Saturday will see Netherton welcome Astwood Bank's thirds to Highbridge Road (1pm start).
