ANDY Allardice praised the hard work of his Dudley Town players following their victory over AFC Bridgnorth.
The Robins got the new West Midlands Premier League season off to a flying start by bagging a 2-1 win at the Dell last Saturday.
Ben Stretton headed them in front early on before Rhys Morgan netted a second on his return from a broken ankle that has kept him out for 18 months.
A penalty from the visitors in the final minutes made for a nervy finish but Town stood up to the test to record an early three points.
Manager Allardice said: "We have worked really hard throughout the game and got our rewards.
"We have been a bit inconsistent in our performances over pre-season but there was no signs of that on Saturday.
"We fully deserved the win."
Dudley's game against Tividale this week will be rearranged due to their rivals having to play in an FA Cup replay.
It means they will next be in action this Saturday when they welcome Bewdley Town to the Dell (3pm kick-off).
