GORNAL manager Matt Fisher has demanded more from his players after a disastrous start to life in West Midlands League Division One.

The Peacocks are hoping to bounce back following relegation last season but began with a 6-2 defeat at Newport Town last Saturday.

Fisher was left to rue individual errors after the loss and has called on his squad to hit back in the right manner when they go to Old Wulfrunians this Saturday.

He said: "We started really well and were ahead after 10 minutes but then we completely lost our way.

"We have made too many mistakes and it's cost us.

"The fact is we are a big scalp and teams will be raising their game to try and beat us. We have to manage that and make sure we learn quickly.

"I made it loud and clear to the players that they need to have a long, hard look at themselves and then fix it quickly, which is what good teams do.

"We have taken a knock on the chin but nothing more. We have the players to get out of this league."

Fisher said he may also ring the changes this weekend.
