TIVIDALE'S Ryan ‘Stewart’ Davies was crowned British Challenge Champion at the top of BCB Promotions’ ‘Line Of Fire’ bill in Dudley on Saturday night.

The former kickboxer outpointed MJ Hall to lift the title, less than 12 months after switching sports.

Davies was given an 80-74 victory by referee Shaun Messer.

Busier throughout, ‘Rhino’ recorded a second victory over Hall having outpointed him last year over four rounds.

Chief support was Netherton's Les Byfield and Alec Bazza. The Minefield impressed in his tenth pro outing despite being visibly hurt by a Bazza body shot in the fourth round of the scheduled six. He recovered and picked up a deserved 60-55 victory.

The card was completed by Kane Baker and Danny Ball. Brummie Baker eased to a 40-37 victory over Michael Mooney whilst Ball recorded a shut out win over tough Irishman James Gorman.
