MANAGER Gary Hackett couldn't hide his delight after Stourbridge booked their place in the Birmingham Senior Cup final.

The Glassboys are still in the hunt for silverware this season after goals from Aaron Hayden, Josh Cooke and Stuart Pierpoint handed them a 3-1 semi-final success over West Bromwich Albion.

Hackett said: "To say I'm pleased is an understatement and I've just said that to the lads in the dressing room.

"They have shown everything tonight. We've got some very tired legs and I said before the game that maybe feeling tired is all in the mind and if you put your mind to it you can do it.

"They were exceptional tonight. I'm so pleased for them."

The boss also praised forwards Josh Cooke and Luke Benbow after the victory, adding: "Josh has stuck to his guns this year. He probably hasn't played as many games as he could but he's been patient and everyone knows what a popular member of the squad he his. He got his goal today and it was outstanding.

"If I was really looking for someone I had to pick out, Luke a Benbow is up there on his own today. He just showed how to lead the line and gave a perfect performance. I'm pleased for him and for everybody.

"We've got something to look forward to now. We're delighted to be there."
