OLD Halesonians have started preparations for next season with the capture of Tom Jarvis.

the full-back has been a junior international and England Counties player that has a huge amount of experience as a player and coach having played at Hartpury, Gloucester, Worcester, Plymouth Albion, Firenze 1931 and Stourbridge.

He has been working as a player-coach in recent years and is hoping to help develop the club's young players.

Jarvis said: "I can’t wait to get involved with the club as I feel I still have lots to give on and off the pitch, and the environment and culture that I have seen created at Old Hales is something I can’t wait to be involved with. I have learnt a lot over the past couple of years and I am looking forward to sharing knowledge with this young and talented squad.”

He will join the squad for an extended pre-season in mid-June.

Head coach Matt Williams added: "He is someone as a head coach you always want to come to your club. He is an amazing player but more importantly a great bloke that will not only rip it up on the pitch, but mentor younger players, and fully embrace the social side of the club."
