ASHLEY Morris has vowed to continue piling up points for the Heathens in a bid to win a Premier League spot.

Wolverhampton teenager Morris continued his fine National League form for the former Cradley club in their stunning wins at Rye House and Buxton at the weekend, as they romped to the top of the table.

And he impressed in the main body of the Berwick team at PL level when he made a guest appearance at Sheffield last Thursday.

Morris said: “I want to keep this form going and hope somebody notices me for the Premier League, I feel ready to do a job for someone.

“I rode for Wolverhampton at Poole recently as well and felt I did OK, so things are going well for me.”

Morris has also been called up for the European Under 21 Championship semi-final in Denmark in July after catching the eye of Young Lions chiefs Neil Vatcher and Phil Morris.

But he’s also insisted he won’t take his eye off Heathens business.

He said: “It’s a great time to be involved with the club, everyone is buzzing and we're all really enjoying it.

“Hopefully, we can keep the winning form going and win things, there’s no reason why not.

“Everyone is there to help each other out and the team spirit is awesome.”

Sunday’s 65-27 win at Buxton was the biggest away win in the history of the club, going back to the Cradley era in 1947.

The previous best came in the sensational 1983 British League title success when Cradley lost only two meetings all season.

“They won 56-22 at Eastbourne on September 25 and again at Leicester two days later.

Now the modern day Heathens will meet fans and sign autographs when the full team take part in a meet and greet autograph session when the gates open for the Buxton clash at 6.30pm at Monmore next Tuesday.

Team manager Will Pottinger said: “We were always confident of getting a result but not like that.

“Fans should bring their pictures and programmes to get them signed, the riders will be available until about 7pm before getting changed.”

Tickets are still available for the evening with Erik Gundersen, Cradley's greatest-ever rider who makes his first visit to the Black Country for a number of years next month.

Almost 300 tickets have already been sold for the evening with the man known as ‘King of Cradley’ at the Venue Conference and Banqueting Suite in Dudley on Friday, July 20.

General admission tickets are available at £10 with the event starting at 8.30pm.

All VIP seats have been sold.

Tickets can be purchased at the club’s online shop at www.dudleyheathens.co or by sending a cheque payable to HSSC, 2 Caernarvon Way, Dudley, West Midlands, DY1 2TR.
