TRACK cycling star Jess Varnish will look to continue the Olympic glory for Halesowen athletes later today - and you can follow the action with us.
The 21-year-old rides in the women’s team sprint alongside Victoria Pendleton as the action in the Velodrome gets underway at around 4pm.
After breaking the world record when they first raced at the venue in February, the British duo will be among the contenders for gold.
But they will face stiff competition from Australian pair Anna Meares and Kaarle McCulloch, while German world champions Mirian Welte and Kristinathen Vogel will also have their say in a thrilling contest.
Members of Halesowen Cycling Club, where Varnish is a member, are set to congregate at the Manor Way track to watch the drama unfold.
And you can also follow the action online with our live blog at halesowennews.co.uk, while a full report and pictures will be available after the event.
