Wilson hits four as Kings win thriller
11:00pm Thursday 11th October 2012 in Sport
MARK Wilson scored four goals as Kingswinford HC won a 6-4 thriller with Solihull Blossomfield.
Kings began nervously but settled down once Wilson had fired them in front from a penalty corner.
Solihull levelled things up thanks to a penalty corner routine after the ball had struck a Kings player on the foot.
But Wilson scored his second and Sam George added a third, after neatly skipping past a defender, to make it 3-1 at the break.
The hosts paid the price for a slow start to the second-half as Solihull scored twice to tie things up at 3-3.
Wilson completed his hat-trick, once more from a penalty corner, only for Solihull to level again with 20 minutes to play.
There was a break of 15 minutes after a Solihull player was struck in the head and from the restart, Guneet Uppal scored to put Kings ahead once more.
Wilson then ensured their was no way back with his fourth and Kings’ sixth.
The seconds put in a great display to draw 3-3 with a very strong Wednesbury team.
Kings dominated play with the forward line of Jassi Bhadal, Daman Johal and Surjit Takhar tormenting the Wednesbury back four.
But it was the hosts who went in front thanks to a neat counter attacking move.
Bhadal slammed home the equaliser and Kings spent much of the second period camped in the Wesnesbury half.
Substitute Kuldip Randhawa slammed home two superb shots to put them 3-1 up but there was a sting in the tail as Wednesbury won and converted two penalty corners in the final five minutes.
