Hill hoping for Gueyes resolution

HALESOWEN Town should know today whether winger Jean-Michel Gueyes will move to Tamworth.

The youngster has been training with the Blue Square Bet Premier outfit for the past few weeks while still playing for the Yeltz but Hill is keen for the situation to be resolved.

Meanwhile, Dutch youngster Passeka Kargbo has emerged as a target for Birmingham City.

The 17-year-old forward, who came off the bench in Halesowen’s 2-0 win at Leek last Saturday, caused something of a coup when he arrived from PSV Eindhoven last month and has trained with Blues’ youth team in the past week.

Hill said: “He’s had a bit of a trial with their under-18s and we are waiting to see what happens.

“With the all the publicity surrounding his arrival I’m not surprised he has attracted some interest.

“In terms of Jean-Michel we are hoping to hear on Thursday what is happening.

“We haven’t set Tamworth an ultimatum or anything like that. Everything has been done right and their manager Dale Belford has been great.

“But it’s best for everyone if a decision is made so we can move on.”

Meanwhile, Hill says Halesowen Town’s fans can help roar them to a sixth straight league win this Saturday.

The Yeltz host Loughborough Dynamo at the Grove riding the crest of an ever growing wave after last weekend’s success at Leek, described by the manager as a “massive” win.

As his side storm toward the thick of the Northern League Division One South play-off race, Hill says the increased noise from fans has been noticed by the players.

He said: “One thing which has definitely changed over the past two games is the supporters. They have been brilliant.

“The home game against Gresley was great but what I couldn’t believe was the number who came to Leek. It gave the players a huge boost.

“People like supporting a winning team and while that gets mocked sometimes, who would want to go and watch a side which loses every week?

“It’s another big game for us on Saturday and we are hoping for another good crowd.

“The more the merrier I say.”
