Triumphant Tividale continue their winning streak
11:54am Thursday 5th September 2013 in Football
TERRIFIC Tividale stretched their tremendous season start to eight straight wins after dumping Wolves Causals out of the FA Cup by a 3-0 margin.
Tivvy boss Stuart Scriven was quick to point out: “It wasn’t our best display, but the players did a very professional job.”
Mark Wardell gave Tivvy an early lead, but the crunch moment arrived close to the half hour mark when striker Stuart How was brought down by Casuals defender George Williams.
Consequently Williams was sent off and How got up to score from the resulting penalty.
Scriven paid tribute to Casuals by claiming: “Despite having the steam knocked out of them by that incident, they came out in the second half and had a real go at us”.
A third goal from Nathan Waite settled the contest as Tividale booked a trip to fellow Midland Alliance side Coventry Sphinx on September 14 in the 1st Qualifying Round.
Tividale now face a local derby in every sense when they take on their groundshare tenants Black Country Rangers this Saturday in the FA Vase.
