Wright admits Himley were awful

GREG Wright admitted his Himley side slipped into end of season mode following their 68-run reverse at Barnt Green.
The result put paid to their prospects of finishing runners-up in this season’s Birmingham League Premier Division.
Wright said: “We didn’t play as well as we could, in fact we were pretty awful.”
For once Himley strike bowlers Danny Smith and Jamie Turner flattered to deceive and it was left to off spinner Ryan Brown to bag the best figures of 3-34 while Stuart Wedge, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Nathan Round all claimed a couple of wickets.
They all helped bowl Barnt Green out for 188 with three balls of their allotted 50 overs to spare.
Himley never got going with the bat in reply and were removed for a modest 120 in 38.2 overs as Alistair Pollock picked up 4-16 off nine overs.
Himley bring down the curtain with a home clash against runners-up Brockhampton.
n Netheton never looked like getting the better of Worcestershire League Division Two champions Harvington.
Simon Oseland produced a superb spell of bowling to claim 4-29 off nine overs but could not prevent Harvington batsman James Towey from piling on the runs as he reached 85.
Jaimen Rudd reeled off a further 58 as Harvington set an imposing target of 207-9 on a slow scoring wicket.
Lee Ross then ripped out the first five Netherton batsmen to claim 5-58 off 17 before Jayden Lennox mopped up the innings taking 3-26.
Netherton were finally removed for 123 with nearly six overs to spare, 84 runs short of their target.
