ANDY Wyton believes his Gornal Athletic side should have more points to show for their improved performances since he took charge.

He has now called on his players to set the record straight by picking up what he would consider bonus points from their next two games.

Gornal were set to take on promotion hopefuls Tividale last night ahead of welcoming Westfields to Garden Walk this Saturday (3pm ko).

Wyton is keen to add to the six points he has taken from his first four games as manager.

Gornal were denied three vital away points last Saturday when Shepshed Dynamo hit an equaliser in the sixth minute of injury time to level the game at 2-2.

Grant Joshua had previously netted with two well-taken free-kicks that looked to have given Gornal victory.

Wyton said: "I am pleased that I have been able to steady the ship since I arrived and am pleased with the points we have managed to get, but I think we could have had even more. We should have beaten Loughborough and Shepshed Dynamo.

"It is now up to the players to put that right and get the points that we feel we deserve from our performances. We have some difficult games coming up so anything we get now will be a bonus.

"These next two games give the players a chance to really test themselves at this level. It is clear they have the ability, but now they have the challenge to see exactly how far they could go, both for this year and, should we stay up, next season as well."
