Kirkham to learn about his Dudley Town players

NEW Dudley Town boss Nigel Kirkham is looking to learn more about his squad in the coming weeks.
The interim manager got his first win last Saturday when Dudley beat Bartley Green 4-3 at The Dell.
It followed a 3-1 home defeat against Pegasus Juniors during his first game in charge the previous Wednesday.
A host of new additions have been brought in to join a number of youth players promoted to the first team squad in recent weeks. The club turned to its youngsters when previous boss Andy Wyton and 14 players left for Midland Alliance neighbours Gornal Athletic last month - a move that had seen The Robins struggling to fulfil their recent fixture commitments.
Kirkham takes the hotseat at The Dell for a temporary period until a permanent successor to Wyton can be found. He is no stranger to the club having previously being joint manager with Neil Perks in early 2011 and involved in Town's youth set up in the past.
He is now looking to get to know his new players as he attempts to steady the ship before the end of the current campaign.
"I have been encouraged by what I have seen so far. I definitely have something to work with," said Kirkham.
Town have added around 10 new players to their squad. The most notable being former player George Reeves, who has returned from abroad, midfielders Joe Lawley and Stefan Ashman, defender Adam Wright and forwards Shaun Devanport and Scott Keyes.
"With the amount of matches we have coming up, I will be mainly learning about my players during the games. So far the signs have been encouraging," added Kirkham.
He also singled out young left-sided player Rees Wager for praise. He was promoted from Dudley's youth set-up and has impressed the new boss during his first two games.
Kirkham will now be looking to build on his good start when The Robins welcome Bromyard to The Dell tonight (7.45pm ko). They don't play this weekend but travel to play Black Country Rangers on Tuesday, March 25.
